MacroNano® is a Centre for Innovation Competence within the scope of the BMBF-Innovation Initiative "Unternehmen Region", funded for 5 years by the BMBF and supported by the Thuringian Ministry of Culture.
MacroNano® is resident at the Ilmenau University of Technology and cuts into three Junior Research Groups:
Microfluidics and Biosensors
Mikrokunststoffformen
Functionalised Peripherics
The aim of the research activities is the development for a handling system for single molecules or insulated cells within smallest volumes of samples and the application as biosensors, as well as for the development and enhancement of ceramic carriers and housings for micro- and nanoelectronics.
The results of the research will provide an opportunity for commercionalisation on the market, for instance with new analysis devices for medical and pharmaceutical research or with high-frequency and high-performance electronics.
